Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Allegedly Listed on Geekbench With Android 16, Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset

Samsung’s upcoming foldable flagship, the “Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7”, has reportedly made its first appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, sparking fresh excitement ahead of its anticipated July debut. This alleged listing hints at some major performance upgrades, including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and Android 16.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Geekbench Listing Details

The listing, first spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), reveals that the device carrying model number “SM-F966U” could be the US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. According to the Geekbench database, the foldable scored an impressive “18,143 points on the OpenCL test”, signaling a major boost in GPU performance.

The device’s motherboard is identified with the codename “Sun”, accompanied by the Adreno 830 GPU. The CPU configuration includes an eight-core setup, clocked at a “base frequency of 3.53GHz” and a “peak frequency of 4.47GHz”, both of which align with the specifications of the “Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset”.

This would make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 one of Samsung’s most powerful foldables to date, sharing the same elite-tier silicon as the Galaxy S25 series.

Operating System, RAM, and UI

The benchmark listing also suggests that the “Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7” will run “Android 16” out of the box, most likely customized with Samsung’s upcoming “One UI 8”. The device was seen with “10.72GB of RAM”, which is expected to translate to “12GB” on the commercial model, promising seamless multitasking and superior performance.

What Else to Expect From the Galaxy Z Fold 7

Leaks surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 7 indicate that Samsung will retain the “4,400mAh battery” capacity, alongside “25W wired charging”. Camera upgrades are also rumored, with a “200-megapixel main rear sensor” tipped to headline the camera setup. Samsung is also said to be refining its “under-display camera” technology for a more immersive foldable experience.

Storage options are likely to mirror previous generations, starting at “256GB”, with “512GB and 1TB variants” also expected. The base 12GB + 256GB configuration could be priced at approximately “Rs. 1,64,999”.

Unpacked July 2025: What’s Coming?

The “Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7”, alongside the “Galaxy Z Flip 7”, is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s second “Galaxy Unpacked event” in July 2025. Rumors suggest that Samsung may also introduce its “first tri-fold smartphone”, marking a significant leap in foldable technology.

With the Geekbench listing providing an early peek into the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s internals, expectations are higher than ever for Samsung’s next-gen foldables. More official details are likely to emerge as we inch closer to the launch.
