The reality of telepathic control of your gadgets is getting closer and closer.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk’s start-up Neuralink has developed an implantable brain-chip that enables the person to control his/her gadgets only with the brain signals/thoughts.
The company achieved its milestone as the chip-implanted monkey played the video game using nothing but its thoughts.

The success of the Neuralink chip was shared by Elon Musk on Twitter. “A monkey is literally playing a video game telepathically using brain chip!” wrote Elon Musk.

In the experiment, the doctors had safely implanted the neural recording and data transmission device in a nine-year-old macaque named Pager about six weeks ago.
Pager was first taught to interact with the computer for a delicious banana smoothie as a reward for his learning process.
The Neuralink chip recorded the electro-impulse of the motor cortex that controls hand and arm movements.

In the video, Pager first uses the joystick to move the cursor to aim at the moving target, and with every successful move, he was rewarded with the tasty smoothie through the straw.
And as a next-level test, the joystick was unplugged from the monitor to record the neuro signals from the motor cortex, and Pager was controlling the game using the signals from the brain but his hand was still controlling the unplugged joystick as it had become his usual practice while playing.
Eventually, the fixed joystick was removed from the computer and now Pager was playing Pong like Professor X controlling others telepathically.
“We are pleased to reveal the Link’s capacity to enable a macaque monkey, named pager, to move a cursor on a computer screen with a neural activity using moring than 2000 electrodes implanted in its multi cortex,” Neuralink said in a statement.
According to Elon Musk, Neurallink aims to help people with paralysis to control their gadgets faster than someone using thumbs.
He also tweeted that the later versions will be able to shunt signals from Neuralinks in the brain to Neuralinks in body motor/sensory neuron clusters, thus enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again.
