Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Players Surprised..!

Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Owners Receive Unexpected Early Access to Update 2.3.

In a pleasant twist for Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 players, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has rolled out the highly anticipated Update 2.3 on Nintendo’s next-gen hybrid console – despite previously stating it would be delayed.

Originally expected to launch later than its PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 counterparts, the Switch 2 version surprisingly received the update on July 17, 2025. This comes just weeks after CDPR delayed the patch in late June.

At that time, the studio explicitly said that the Switch 2 version would get the update “at a later date.” The reversal took fans by surprise, especially since CDPR rarely diverges from its scheduled release roadmaps.

What’s New in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 for Switch 2?

Although early feedback suggests no Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2-specific features or performance tweaks, the 2.3 update still delivers a robust slate of improvements that all players can enjoy. Here’s what’s included:

Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred” – Requires completion of several main and side quests.

Is More Content Coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2?

While CDPR insists that Cyberpunk 2077 is largely feature-complete post-Phantom Liberty, its partnership with Virtuos has led to surprisingly frequent post-launch updates. Given the Switch 2’s strong reception, further patches for optimization – especially related to frame rate in dense city environments – may still be in the pipeline.

Though the 2.3 update was primarily handled by Virtuos, the quality and scope suggest that CDPR remains closely involved with the Switch 2 build, reinforcing the studio’s long-term commitment to platform parity.

The early arrival of the Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Update 2.3 is a refreshing deviation from CD Projekt Red’s original timeline. Though lacking Switch 2-specific changes for now, it delivers a massive content boost that includes AutoDrive, new vehicles, quality-of-life upgrades, and a much-improved Photo Mode.

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 should keep their eyes peeled, as this surprise release might be a hint of even more to come in Night City.
